2011 NGA Garden State Classic
WHERE/WHEN:
On Saturday, May 14, 2011, Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield NJ, will be hosting the NGA Garden State Classic Bodybuilding, Figure, and Bikini Championships. This will be my 3rd Figure show I will be competing in.
What is a Figure Competition?
Figure competition is by far, the fastest growing segment of bodybuilding. It allows women to show off their hard work they've put in at the gym without having to be overly muscular. A lot of times it comes down to genetic makeup for a woman. Lifting heavy and consistently will not always give you big muscles. It has depends on the person, genetics, diet, cardio, and body type. Some women adapt to weightlifting much more quicker than others. There are many women who have enough muscle and symmetry to compete if they would just lose enough body fat to bring out their physique.
What are the judges looking for:
Guidelines:
1. Muscularity
2. Symmetry
3. Stage presence
4. Body shape
5. Muscle shape
6. Presentation: posing, poise, grace and confidence
Overall:
I thoroughly enjoy putting the extra time and effort into working out and following a proper diet. It increases my energy, I feel stronger than ever, and it bring my self-esteem up immensely. Figure competitions are not for everyone, but it is a great way to feel good about yourself while looking good!
